Your Own Personal Backswing Length
By Jim Wagner
How far back is your backswing supposed to go? Many think that getting the shaft parallel
to the ground is correct, but that’s not necessarily the case. A lot depends on how
flexible you are. Since everybody is different, we have different degrees of flexibility.
Other factors affecting your backswing length are temperature, and how long you have to
warm up.  : Jim Wagner is the Golf Professional at the Spring Hollow Golf Club in Spring City, PA. He is a graduate of the PGA Professional Golf Management program at Ferris State University located in Michigan. He has also worked at various courses in Naples, Fla., Morgantown, W.V., Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., and Ambler, Pa. For individual lessons, call Jim at (610) 948-5566. |
