To Chip or Putt?
By Jim Wagner
Many golfers, when faced with a shot from just off the green, immediately reach for
either their wedge or their putter. This creates two possible problems. First, the wedge
shot keeps the ball in the air too long and therefore it is very difficult to control
the distance. Second, with the putt, the ball will be influenced by the higher grass just
off the green. Jim Wagner is the Golf Professional at the Spring Hollow Golf Club in Spring City, PA. He is a graduate of the PGA Professional Golf Management program at Ferris State University located in Michigan. He has also worked at various courses in Naples, Fla., Morgantown, W.V., Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., and Ambler, Pa. For individual lessons, call Jim at (610) 948-5566. |
