The Importance of Balance on your Golf Swing

Wednesday, February 25th, 2009
Mastering the art of the golf swing could be complicated and challenging, and you are most probably trying to improve yours. There are a couple of very simple errors in balance that most people make but can easily be avoided. Here are two simple tips on improving your balance and golf swing, as well as correct the basic slip-ups that you could be doing.

1. A Good Setup, A Good Balance, A Good Swing

A good tip for improving your golf swing would be improving your setup. A lot of golfers do not have a good balance because they started off from a bad setup. If you have a good and solid setup, you would be able to keep balanced as you swing. Maintaining your balance would give you a solid swing plane as well as a good pivot. Make sure keep your whole body under control during your setup so you could improve your balance and swing.

2. Swinging Too Hard

Although having great distance is essential, having perfect control of your swing is equally important. What usually happens is since you want distance, you give your all you can when you swing. This causes you to wheel around and lose your balance, as you swing too hard. What you would need to do is trust your club. It is already designed to send the ball to great lengths so you would need to focus on making your swing as solid, as steady and as balanced as possible to stay in the fairway.

What are the best places to golf in the Chicagoland area?
My boyfriend and I are going to move to the area. He loves to golf and I would like to know about the different golf courses/centers in the area. I have never golfed. It is almost his birthday and I would like to surprise him with some type of golfing excursion or golfing gift certificates. Do you have any ideas as to where/what I can give him?

Best golf tip I ever received?

The slice is obviously the most undesired yet most common ball flight in golf.. I got a tip from my coach who is rated one of the top 100 teachers in the world…This info is priceless…Do this experiment.. find a place in your home that has a window you can look out of, stand about 10 or so feet behind it.. Set a golf ball down inline with a spot on the window… Pick a target outside of the window in the distance as well…Notice what happens when you move to the left as if you were going to address the golf ball. The close target(window) moves right, while the target in the distance moves left…The perspective of the target changes when you address the ball..This is a trick your eyes play on you.. To hit the ball to your close target, you have to swing onplane and from the inside.. What I’ve noticed is that a straight shot looks like a big arcing draw from standing to the side of the ball. It’s about trusting your alignment to the close target and hitting it through there..
i’ll take that as a compliment Cena, thanks…
This is not only meant for slicers…Advance players have this problem including myself..I’m a +3 handicap and this tip straightened out all facets of my game…Driving it better, my irons have improved dramatically, and my wedge game is more precise..Good for lag putting as well….Best of luck

Golf Swing Improvement - Super Tips That Work For Your Golf Swing Now

Monday, February 23rd, 2009
It’s important to remember, your golf swing is what drives your score; not your clubs or ball. Most golfers don’t know that eighty percent of the world’s golfers have a handicap of 18 or more. When you’re playing golf badly it isn’t a lot of fun.

Overall, you generally want to play golf with confidence. If you’ve hit with your golf driver perfectly once, you can do it every time; the subconscious mind knows the correct number and sequence of muscle contractions and nerve impulses needed, called muscle memory. Visualize where you would like the ball to land, as you swing.

As the body matures, the ability to rotate the upper torso is affected by age, and the hand action can also slow down requiring a slightly stronger grip. Make sure to use the proper technique. At the end of a swing, the weight has shifted almost entirely to the left foot, the body is fully turned to the left and the hands are above the left shoulder with the club hanging down over the players’ back.

Standing over the ball for too long a time and wondering whether you’re going to swing the club correctly can easily result in a skewed shot, or completely missing the ball. Use the muscles in your legs and trunk when you swing. Putting can become a nightmare and a condition called the ‘yips’ has affected not only amateurs but professionals as well; get expert advice and consider a golf swing aid.

Before you swing, make sure you’re relaxed; contract all your muscles tightly for a moment and then relax them. After the ball is hit, the follow-through stage consists of a continued rotation to the left. Ask your golf pro to evaluate your posture while swinging. Swing slowly and steadily using a nice rhythm. Use the basic ‘hitchhiker’ position when you’re working on your backswing.

It’s no secret; most of the professional players actively participate in workouts. You can get rid of shoulder problems with some simple techniques. Don’t underestimate the value of fitness when it comes to your golf swing and your overall golf game.

Keep in mind that with some golf swing aids, you may still need advice or help from an expert. Overall, investing in aids will greatly improve your golf swing and your golf game. There are aids that will help you with swing alignment.

Look for golf swing aids at your local golf course. You can find aids that will help you with your wrist and arm position. There are golf swing aids that act as driving range simulators.

Whether you’re a seasoned golfer or just starting out, pick just one aid and go to work on your swing. Golf swing aids come in all shapes and sizes including apparel type accessories to correct alignment or a golf club add-on accessory to monitor your swing. Before buying any aid, check with an expert to get an idea of what problem you need to work on first; backlift, momentum of downward thrust or stance for example.

If you’re looking for an aid to improve your stance they’re not hard to find. In any case, stick to just one aid at a time; don’t load up on them.

When you play a round of golf, concentrate on improving your swing, putting or something specific that day; have a plan in mind. If you’ve hit with your golf driver perfectly once, you can do it every time. Now is the time to fix that golf swing forever.

Cure That Sick Golf Swing The Easy Way

Friday, February 20th, 2009
No matter what area of your game needs improving, whether it’s balance and alignment or power and speed, there’s a solution waiting for you. Many golfers play golf just to hack around and have some fun; more avid players are always looking for ways to improve their swing and their overall game. Hard to believe but there are roughly 27 million golfers in the world today.

If you’ve hit with your golf driver perfectly once, you can do it every time; the subconscious mind knows the correct number and sequence of muscle contractions and nerve impulses needed, called muscle memory. The positive energy you send out will influence your game, just as negative thinking and therefore negative energy will affect it also. Visualize where you would like the ball to land, as you swing.

Accomplished golfers purposely use sidespin to steer their ball around obstacles or towards the safe side of fairways and greens. Before you swing, make sure you’re relaxed; contract all your muscles tightly for a moment and then relax them. Trust your golf club to do the job it was intended to do.

Use the basic ‘hitchhiker’ position when you’re working on your backswing. One of the problems that most inexperienced golfers share is they think too much about their swing. After the ball is hit, the follow-through stage consists of a continued rotation to the left.

Putts and short chips are ideally played without much movement of the body, but most other shots are played using variants of the full golf swing. Many golfers who are strongly left-handed in their daily life prefer the right-handed swing. Sidespin occurs when the clubface is not aligned perpendicularly to the plane of swing.

It’s difficult for a golfer to practice hitting shots longer than short pitch shots unless one pays to play golf or pays to practice at a driving range or indoor golf training facility.

Use the muscles in your legs and trunk when you swing. Conditioning your golf muscles will reward you with straighter swings. To prevent injury and improve swing speed and distance requires your body to be both strong and flexible. Don’t underestimate the value of fitness when it comes to your golf swing and your overall game.

Golf swing aids will improve your game. Most of all don’t waste your money on a golf swing aid you don’t need or will never use. Overall, investing in golf swing aids will greatly improve your swing and your game.

If you’re a golfing novice just starting out, it’s easy to become overwhelmed. Look for golf swing aids at your local golf course. Golf swing aids come in all shapes and sizes including apparel type accessories to correct alignment or a golf club add-on accessory to monitor your swing.

Sporting goods stores have aids to improve your game. Whether you’re a seasoned golfer or just starting out, pick just one golf swing aid and go to work on your swing. There are aids that will help you with swing alignment.

If you’re looking for an aid to improve your stance they’re not hard to find. Golf magazines often review the newest golf swing aids and are reviewed by golfers, making it easy to choose the right one for you.

Practice, practice, practice! When you play a round of golf, concentrate on improving your golf swing, putting or something specific that day; have a plan in mind. Try to concentrate on one golf swing weakness at time.

Customize the Way you Play With Customized Golf Clubs

Thursday, February 19th, 2009
Golf clubs greatly affect the way you play the game. If you want to make sure that you would be making that killer shot, customized golf clubs might be just what you need. Golf club customization would include fitting your clubs in three different lies, which would be standard, upright and flat to improve your game. Having golf clubs that are custom-made also lets you select the materials and the grip and also help you in setting your driving range so that you would be getting the most out of your clubs.

You would also be able to select the materials for the club heads and the shafts. This would give you the ability to choose the flexibility you need for your drive and your swing. However, it is important that you consider some things when you have your golf clubs customized. These would be if you play with your left or right hand, if you wear shoes that have flat soles, if you have your arms on your sides, what the distance between the floor and your wrist is, what the size of your gloves is and what your present handicap on an 18-hole green is.

Other questions that they would ask before customizing your clubs would be your accuracy, your driving distance, chipping and putting techniques and your recovery and ball hitting. Additionally, you would need to know how far your ball goes with your 5 iron; if you do any of these more often than the others: hook, straight, draw, fade, slice; what the make and flexibility of your current driver and shaft are; and the type of golf ball you are using.

The Simple Golf Swing - How to Find your Perfect Golf Swing

Tuesday, February 17th, 2009
Let me start off by saying that I was extremely leary about buying something off of the internet to help improve my golf swing. And come on, “The Simple Golf Swing”? Everyone knows a perfect golf swing like Tiger Woods is anything but simple. After reading some of the testimonials and since the price of the book was so low (I spend more on golf balls) I decided to buy the book because it is 100% guaranteed - if it ****** I would just get a refund. One of the main reasons I decided to buy the book was because I don’t have time to have a golf trainer or practice all the time. I surf pretty much any day there are waves in Florida, I go to college, and I have to keep my websites updated daily.

So I decided to buy the book and I spent a few hours reading it from front to back over and over. I decided I would just print the book out and bring it with me to the golf course in the morning so I didn’t forget anything. After a short surf session with my friends, we drove across the street to our local golf course in Melbourne Beach, FL.

Let me just put it this way, my friends were amazed at my golf swings and were convinced that I had a personal golf trainer. The first day that I had tried out the tips that I got from the Simple Golf Swing I improved my handicap from a 17 to a 13. I improved my accuracy and distance hitting the golf ball as well. This was just my first time using the Simple Golf Swing tips and they were definetly helping my golf swing.

Two days later I went back to the course and had even better results. It was a rainy day, so I wanted to test out some more tips that were in the Simple Golf Swing book. My first tee I had a great hit even with the wetness of the ball and club. I have never had a ball fly this straight and high in the rain before.

Every hole after the first was the same. I would’ve never dreamed of making such solid contact thru 18 holes. The ultimate test came on the 5th hole where I’m sitting at 200 yards out in the middle of the fairway on an uphill par 4. I grab my 3 iron which still looks new from lack of use and I nail it within 15 feet of the hole. I wound up shooting 80 and the only reason that I was that high, was club selection between my sand and pitching wedge. I was getting so much action on my sand wedge that 3 times I hit the front of the green and it ****** right back off the green. That’s the first time that has ever happened to me. To top things off my playing partner, seeing me hit so well, asked me what I’d changed. I gave him a brief lesson and within two holes he’s hitting them a far and as straight as I’ve ever seen him.

I honestly recommend The Simple Golf Swing even if you already think you are Tiger Woods. A lot of people have had success with The Simple Golf Swing and you can read more testimonials on their website.

Improve Your Golf Swing

Monday, February 16th, 2009
Ah, the simple golf swing. Only, it’s not so simple. When swinging a golf club, almost every part of the golfer’s body takes part. The forward press in the golf swing involves the legs and that’s just the beginning. The hands, arms, hips, back, shoulders all take part in this most complex exercise.

It is said that of all the great PGA golfers, only Ben Hogan had the perfect golf swing for every club. So, how does the every day golfer wade through the different swing methods to find the golf swing that fits his or her golf game?

There are many different ways. Golf lessons are always a good way to start, but the teaching golf professional must understand your golf game. That includes your handicap, your physical condition and the amount of time you will actually spend practicing your golf swing. His analysis should include watching you driving the golf ball and hitting fairway woods and the complete range of irons. Then, the golf pro should tailor your swing training to your individual skills.

I learned this lesson the hard way. Many years ago, I took some golf lessons. The pro believed, what he thought, was the best golf swing method that encompassed all the biomechanics of the perfect golf swing. Not for me. After a month of lessons, I had lost over 20 yards in distance off the tee and my scores rose by 8 points. I quit my lessons, bought a great little book by written by former PGA golfer Tony Lema and in a few weeks my game was back to normal. Since then, my golf swing instruction has been from golf books, an instructional video or two and golf swing teaching aids. I never had another lesson and even in my sixties I can still break 90.

There are many different swing styles and golf equipment and tips.com is filled with articles and videos filled with instructions on how to swing the golf club. They breakdown the swing to its simplest form and from taking back the club to the release, provide instructions on how to add power, distance and accuracy to every golf shot. We even have a free 118 page e-book filled with all sorts of great information about improving your golf game.
